ROUTES/ROOTS –
a community art exhibition

Free exhibition 4 -10th April, 3-6pm

Free drop-in family art activities: Saturday 6th April, 3-5pm | Tuesday 9th April 3-5pm

The Bomb Factory Art Foundation, 103 Kingsway, London WC2B 6QX

Through the mediums of sculpture, print, digital art and textiles, over 100 community members collaborated with Holborn Community Association and a range of exciting visual artists to respond to the following questions: Where have you been? Where are you now? Where do you want to go?

Showcasing artworks made by children, adults and older people participating in HCA’s arts program, the exhibition celebrated Place, Home and Identity and uncovered the stories, people and places rooted in our local community. From interactive audio-visual 'me' sculptures and animations produced by children, to self-portraits by unpaid carers and hanging textiles exploring migration, to prints and drawings of the streets older adults have lived in.

As part of the residency we held two Family Art drop-in days in the space where families could experiment with animation and projection, 3D map making and zine-making, and make their own artwork to stay in the gallery.
